How It Tracks

Surf Session
Tracking

Most surf cameras require you to manage them — start a clip, stop a clip, aim manually. SurfTrak removes all of that. Clip on the beacon, power on the device, paddle out. Your entire session is tracked and filmed without any input from you.

Why Automatic Tracking Matters

Manual filming misses the wave. By the time someone on the beach spots you, picks up the camera, and frames the shot, the best part is already over. Tracking has to be continuous to be useful.

UWB beacon technology makes this possible. SurfTrak reads your position dozens of times per second and commands the motorized head accordingly. There is no vision processing to fool, no face to lose in the crowd, no signal to drop.

The result is footage that actually shows your surfing — not the back of some stranger's head while you pull into the best tube of your session.

Every Wave, Every Session

SurfTrak runs continuously from the moment you power it on. It tracks every paddle, every pop-up, every wave — without you touching anything. No manual start/stop.

Centimeter-Level Positioning

Ultra-wideband doesn't lose you in the crowd. Even when other surfers are nearby or spray is breaking over the lens, the UWB beacon signal holds. GPS can't do this.

Real-Time Pan and Tilt

The motorized head responds in real time — not with a delay. When you bottom turn, it's already moving. When you kick out, it follows. The frame stays on you.

Session Review in the App

After your session, open the SurfTrak app to review your clips. See timestamps, filter your best waves, trim, and share directly from your phone.

Passive — Wears Like Your Leash

The UWB beacon clips to your leash or vest like a small poker chip. No buttons to press in the water. No disruption to how you surf. It just works.

Works in Any Conditions

UWB is a radio signal — it cuts through spray, fog, and flat light that confuse vision-based trackers. SurfTrak works in dawn patrol murk and midday glare alike.

A Session, Start to Finish

  1. 01Clip the beacon to your leash or vest. It weighs almost nothing and stays out of the way.
  2. 02Mount SurfTrak on a tripod, pier railing, or any stable surface with a clear view of the water.
  3. 03Power on. SurfTrak scans, locks onto your beacon, and confirms in under 10 seconds.
  4. 04Paddle out. SurfTrak tracks every movement — warmup waves, main sets, everything.
  5. 05After your session, review clips in the SurfTrak app. Trim, export, and share.
